The Lonely Hearts murderers were perhaps infamous for successfully exploiting the lonely hearts who merely seek companionship and a loving family. I always ponder whether there were better things to do for these guys. Anything.
Letters from Iwo Jima was the other half of Clint Eastwood’s recent two-part portrayal of the American invasion of the Japanese island of Iwo Jima during the late periods of World War II. Eastwood’s first part, Flags of Our Fathers presented a balancing American perspective to Letters‘ Japanese point of view.

Watching the directing debut of writer David Ayer (Fast and Furious, Training Day, S.W.A.T.), I expected the urban, nitty-gritty dramatization of American law-enforcement to be pervasive in Harsh Times.
