Thanks for coming. Jonathan Kairupan. I’m currently a postgraduate student in Monash University, Melbourne. My major field of study is in information technology, specifically information systems. I was born in Indonesia, however, so that makes me an international student down here. If everything turns out right, I’m supposed to graduate by the end of June this year. Afterwards I need to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing next.
Anyway, you’re looking at a collection of my thoughts and random opinions of this world. I’m going to scope this thing as vague as possible, as to not limit the contents I’ll be coming up with. It’s an interesting way of expressing your ideas and suggestions to the rest of the world, no matter how eccentric they may be.
The name of my blog: Media Culture. I’m pretty much obsessed with media. I’m defining ‘media’ here as ‘the ways by which information is conveyed and communicated to the mass’. And please consider the term ‘information’ as loose as possible. This includes entertainment, news, pretty much everything.
Besides posts that attempt to scrutinize today’s media and their effects, I also post some stuff that are rather personal, related to my life. Nothing diary-esque, though. If you’d rather not see these posts, please click on the “Media Culture” category on the right of the page. Vice versa with the “My Life” category.
In closing, I wish you all a pleasant stay. You’re welcome to respond via the Comments feature in each post. It’s a great way to start a discussion. Spamming will not be tolerated, however, so please don’t spam. Let’s make our posts mature, informative, and constructive for everyone else.
